This Master Class will show you how to capture beautiful, artistic images of flowers, and will jump start your creativity. Learn how to shoot like a pro. You will create your own masterpieces, and will learn to see things more artistically using line, shape, and color. You will also learn how to recognize “good” light and how to use it;  learn the freedom of working without a tripod;  learn selective focus, how to control the background, and how to break rules effectively. This workshop will be educational, inspirational, and fun! Box Lunches are included. Workshop departs from Sugden Hall at FGCU at 8:00am and returns to FGCU at 12:00pm.

Suggested Equipment:

  • Charged batteries and several memory cards
  • Camera body
  • Macro lens, close-up filters, or an extension tube
  • Lens shade (hood)
  • No tripod required

Class Preparation:

  • Set your ISO to 400
  • Plan to shoot in RAW, Aperture Priority (if you prefer to shoot JPEG, that is OK, too!)
  • Garden Etiquette: we will be careful not to damage plants, beds, signs; we cannot step into flower beds; we must be courteous to other Garden visitors and not block walkways
